Didn't AMD say that their new processor would be out before the end of the quarter??

Their press release said the end of the first quarter which technically ends today (Easter Sunday), but ended in the business world last Thursday. Where's the beef?
 
Specifically they announced they would begin shipping the Thoroughbred to distributors for resale late this month, they did not specifically say it would be actually available for purchase in the retail market.
And they have accorded to their promise, the Mobile AthlonXP based on the Throughbred has indeed begun shipments to distributors and system manufacturers. They made no mention of whether it would be the desktop or mobile Throughbred, and as has been their past tendency they've shipped the Mobile parts ahead of desktop parts.

technically though, one can't wholly classify it as a guarantee, as they did include their typical cautionary statement at the bottom of their press release indicating that there was potential that the indicated product would not ship in the time frame mentioned.
