Wife opted for epidural for both births, labors were long but we slept through them. In the end it was gross, maybe, buy once the baby came out, it was so fucking amazing that it erased the memory of any gorssness; I had never had such an indescribably amazing experience, and I don't think I ever will...

I was fine with the huge hole, poop, blood, Gore but then I cut the cord. Some of the fluid splashed on me. That I did not like.

Birth is a fairly gross process. My wife's bowels emptied as the baby came out, so the doctors are feverishly wiping shit off of it while trying to get it up on my wife's stomach, and then the baby hauls off and shits everywhere too. "Look at the little miracle" isn't the phrase that leaps to mind when witnessing a scene that looks like something from Michael Bay's ill-conceived foray into scat porn. And yet, I wouldn't say I was disgusted by it. Shocked, because nobody tells you "look, there's going to be shit just EVERYWHERE," but not disgusted. That's just life, you know?

I love you man.

i witnessed my wife giving birth 2 weeks ago to the day. i actually kind of had a panic attack as soon as she was 10cm dilated and the pushing was about to begin. i had to sit down for a while and had a clear view of it all.

when she started pushin the doc said she could see the head right in there. so i got up from my seat to peak in, and i quickly had to sit down.

then as the head crowned, i started to feel a bit better. one of the nurses holding her leg had to monitor something else, so i had to sub in at that position. once i was there and closer to the action, my anxious feelings went away and i felt 100% fine and watched as the little guy came out.

i then cut the umbilical cord, which was tougher than i thought it would be.

i then saw her placenta come out and that did not gross me out one bit.

then the following day, when i walked in to the bathroom i saw a pad on the ground with some blood on it from her junk, and it gave me a weird feeling. but seeing the kid come out and all the blood afterwards didn't phase me.

oh, and my son is cute as shit, so f you!

Due in no small part to your nonsensical ramblings on this board, I'm gonna call bullshit on that. If they were so 'dorbs you'd be with them, not on here. :awe:

How dare you. Son of a bitch.:eek::eek:

Totally agree, but i'll let you know when my wife gets induced tomorrow.

Holy crap. Congratulations man. You are a man, right? Never know anymore.

I love you man.

Enough to have his babies? Didn't think...well do you?

First child was emergency c-section. I sat next to her head, there was a curtain across her chest so i couldn't see the procedure. fine by me. They were vacuuming blood and stuff out of her into a plastic cylinder next to me, and that gross me out.

Second child was a VBAC. It didn't gross me out, but definitely changed me. Amazing, to look at a 4 year old now and remember it, pretty cool.

Did you panic when you first saw your baby?

I was scared shitless. I thought for sure he was dead. He wasn't crying like in the movies and was purple. No way he could be alive.

But he was fine and very healthy. Turns out brand new babies just look like purple gremlins for a minute.

nah i didn't panic at all. but when the doc pulled him out, she had his neck turned like 90 degrees, but he was fine and started crying quickly.

As mentioned by others, my daughter was a c-section. Pretty easy from my end from behind the curtain.

The purple thing did catch me off-guard. My daughter was so purple she was almost black. For a second I was about to look at my wife like "uh, were you messing around???" Then she turned pink. :D

LOL!

I had no idea just how gross a brand new baby could look. No clue. But it's amazing that a few minutes later they are beautiful little pink darlings. It's amazing.

I thought I would be but I think you just become so overwhelmed with emotion that it's a non-issue.

Bolded. I remember thinking the same thing. I actually had to put a little muscle into it.

All I remember is her shitting everywhere and puking on herself. Not a good memory.

Nope, because my wife kept her figure by not getting knocked up in the first place. Suckers!

Just think of all the occasions we'll avoid by not being disappointed in failures.

He's either a troll (shitty one) or a shining dumbass. I usually skip his useless threads but I'm glad I didn't this one because there's some funny in here (I'm looking at you Atomic Playboy, and Grooveriding's response to East_Coaster LOL).

Ditto for 1st, 2nd. Except for the second, I watched the whole c-section. Wife told them that I would pass out at the sight of blood. Instead, I was absolutely amazed at the whole thing. I seem to remember cutting the cord, but not with 100% certainty. They announced, "it's a boy!" "Cool. Hey, is that her uterus? <turns to my wife> Hey, your uterus is flipped up onto your chest." Anesthesiologist had put her under right after the baby was out. I barely cared that I just had a son born - I was more interested in the whole process. At one point, the doctor tossed some "stuff" - I assume part of the afterbirth. It landed on my arm. I wasn't thrilled, because I had no idea what I was supposed to do with it (to clean it off). Eventually, the doctor said, I'm sorry, your son has been born, your wife is under, you have to leave - I had been asking him question after question.

When my daughter was born she was crowned for 10 min or so, she would start to exit and get sucked back in like that turd that just won't come out. Her mom was so doped up on pain meds that she didn't have enough control down there, I was waiting for her to just shit everywhere but she didn't. After she finally came out they took her mom out of the room and left me alone with my daughter and she immediately crapped. I yelled "Nurse we have two problems she just pooped and I've never changed a diaper." It was beautiful.
