I think its the worse rule ever, self-defense is no defense in this case.

Yes. Of course if someone hit me first, I am going to hit them back no matter if I will get in trouble or not.

Depends. If it was like the fights I encountered, where one party(attacked or attacker) walked away with blood covering their arms and face, both getting their face and/or head stapled 15-20 times, etc...then yeah, both parties would get in trouble.

Yep. A kid I knew in HS got punched in the face for making an honest joke(I forget what it was, but it was in no way offending), he got suspended for 2 days.

If its a Xv1 fight where x > 1 and you are surrounded, you can fight for your life.

What? He got suspended for telling a JOKE? That's crazy.

At my school though, if a fight happened between just two people, no one was allowed to "hang out" after school.

i think at my old public school (private schools dont have this problem) you could defend yourself, but not go out of your way to punish the other person, ie, kicking him while he's down, etc

In the HS I went to didn't matter who threw the first punch, they called the police and had you arrested. Only way out of it was to shake hands, make up, and promise the principal you won't do it again. God high school sucked.

I have heard that car accidents here (Wisconsin) are the same way. For example, if you get T-boned by a car going thru a red light, you are still legally 30% accountable for the accident because you were "there" on the street. As a result, your car insurance could go up even though you did nothing wrong and were driving within all applicable laws.

Maybe I'm on crack but I swear I heard this. I will try to get into an accident tomorrow.

I was 6'2" in 5th grade. 6'4" freshmen year in high school. Grew anohter 2 inches before leveling out...So no, I was the kid who every wanted to hire to beat the crap out of someone else.

yeah we did... i got a saturday school for getting my butt kicked which wasnt prompted by me or anything... however I stood up to my bully a couple years later after all the abuse and decked him in the face in the locker room without getting in trouble (in my defense he pushed me and my nose hit the locker door... HARD) so theres my victory story

saturday school what is that. I was only suspened for fighting but never got saturday schoo. What did you do on saturday in school. Also what would happen if you refused to go

There was that policy at my grade school. Naturally, it was enforced by the Fat Butchy LunchLadies From Hell that patrolled the schoolyard.

Highschool, they just called the cops. Dipsh|ts.

Saturday school is like an extended detention... you go in on school Saturday morning for a few hours to do homework/just sit there... if you didnt go you would get an in school suspension.... it sucked...
