did your parents leave your room in-tact after you moved out?

inspired by that college diploma thread.

after I went to college, my room was left untouched for about a weekend 😛 my bed / other furniture got moved into the basement (not a bad arrangement at all... gave me some privacy when I came home for vacation and stuff) and my parents turned my bedroom into a work space (part walk-in closet, part home office / sewing area for my mom).

my sister's room was left quasi-in tact, but it got re-painted, carpeted, and turned into a guest room.

No, why would they? I am an adult and was when I moved out at 18. When I was home I really didn't care what my room was like because it was merely a place to sleep while home. All my important possessions were with me where ever I lived at the time.

my bedroom was immediately cleaned up and turned into a guest bedroom that i don't recognize anymore.

my sister's was left intact. my in-laws kept my wife's bedroom intact.

it seems that daughters get their bedrooms intact as if parents are maintaining that daughters can still come back to the nest if they need to.

Intact... Kinda. They were sheepishly storing items in there, they felt guilty when I came back for thanksgiving since there were boxes in the corner and my Dad had thrown his computer stuff on my old desk. I told them it was fine, turn the room into whatever they want...

I cam home for spring break (about 6 months after leaving for college, 3 months after thanksgiving) and it was full of their stuff. Just that all my stuff was still in there too. There was about 0 space in the room, but it was fine, I only slept in it (sometimes 😉 ).

I took most of my stuff with me, so it was basically empty when I left. It just sat there for a while (parents already had 2 guest rooms, didn't really need a 3rd) until my dad eventually took it over as a TV/music/nap room.

oh hell no. I know it was changed before i even got to school.

but the room was converted into a spare bedroom. just had all my kid stuff taken out. wich was ok with me.

The day my parent's found out I was leaving was the day my mom had started making plans for new furniture for the guest room. 2 days after I moved out, I came home to visit and I didn't recognize that room at all.

I shared a room with my little brother and my older brother had his own room.

When my older brother went off to college, my little brother took his room. My room was re-carpeted/re-wallpapered and a bunk bed was taken apart. When I went off to school, my little brother took my room (since it was bigger and had an A/C) and his room became a guest bedroom (which my older brother or I take when we go home).
