I am a junior in college and a programmer for a large financial institution, so I guess yes my major helped me a lot (CS Major).

A degree doesn't mean wasting your money, or more importantly, time, on college.

There are many ways to shortcut a Business or Liberal Arts bachelors to two years or less even at the most reputable schools, and you don't even have to work that hard.

The question is simply whether what you'd learn doing the degree the right way is worth the time and money. And given the statistics on how many people don't work in the fields they studied in college, it would seem the answer is no.

No, I am one of the uneducated baboons with only a high school education. Would you like some fries with that?
