I had to DL it, as I'm at work when it plays and I've no VCR of TiVO, so I just got around to watching it.

I thought the scenes with Kal El pushing Martha aside and blasting off like a missile was pretty damn cool. As was Lana Lang in the shower in Paris . . . and the 'tattoo' she now has on her lower back. 🙂

What boggles the mind to me is why they have Lana still in the show. I just read the synopsis on WB's site, and she's going to be coming back to Smallville. Thats BS, she needs to leave at some point. The whole Yo-Yo though with Clark and Lana has been pretty boring since late in the 3rd season, if not earlier.

Erica Durance seems like a fitting actress for Lois Lane though, compared to the Lois Lane in the Superman movies. She has the fast talking, quick wit that the movie Lois had. Plus she is pretty good looking. 🙂
 
never been a big fan of the show.

I'm seriously missing Angel, though. this is my first Whedon-less season since sophomore year of high school.

Saw it, and thought that it was pretty entertaining. The "shower scene" will be brought up for a while to come, yes. And the flying was pretty cool.
 
it was entertaining. i missed last season's final episode though so I was a little lost. lots of stuff happened it seems.

Did anybody catch Margot Kidder (Lois Lane fromt he movies) when Martha was in the barn cleaning the picture off the floor. I just got chills becasue I just realized both Martha(Smallville) and Margot were in the Superman movies. Margot in I,II, and IV and Martha(Smallville) played Lana Lang in Superman III. So there was a scene with Lois Lane and Lana Lang together.

Now all we need is a Gene Hackman cameo!!!!!11

i figure there were quite a few fans that jizzed themselves when margot kidder showed up, and especially when she commented on how she knew what it was like since she had loved [christopher reeve] "in another lifetime. Smallville alludes to superman lore a lot, though.

Did anyone else notice the blanket lois gave clark was the same shade of red that his cape is? I didn't notice until i watched it on my PDA...They kept showing his back turned with the blanket around him...i guess it was supposed to be another allusion to him being superman.

Oh and lana...i think she uses body doubles for every one of her risque scenes. I doubt that was her in the shower shadow.

I'm not sure what the tattoo symbol meant, though.

Yeah, I've heard that Kristen Kreuk does use body doubles, but I can't say for sure. Either way, the episode was entertaining. And yes, in just about every episode they seem to foreshadow Clark's future in some way.

As far as the tattoo...I think it was the kryptonian symbol for crusade...?

that's what someone else said, but that isn't the same symbol that was burned into their field, is it? That's what margot kidder said was "crusade." The symbol on lana's back was different i think.

Speaking of which, i thought it was silly that the symbol conveniently appeared on the most common place for your typical slut to get a tattoo. I'm surprised it wasn't a dolphin on her ankle.
