Did you say neodymium MAGNETS?!?!

i have a couple of HardDrive magnets on my desk and man those puppies are strong. i can stick them on my forearem and they still pull together.
 
I don't think it really blocks the magnetism - those neodymium magnets just have really tightly confined magnetic fields. Their influence is very concentrated close to their faces.


Want something dangerous? Try something like this.. (Caution, long page load times await. Their webmaster has never learned of the wonders of image resizing.)

Those things can probably crush the bones in your fingers.

The hard drive cover is aluminum and has no effect on the magnetic flux from the neodymium magnet. The metal bracket/holder attached to the magnet tightly controls where the flux goes.
