just found this, pretty scary , even if you hack a friends site just for a prank you can still get it if the bill is passed, link Here

snippet-

the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) currently under consideration in Congress which would treat all computer trespass as terrorism. "Treating low-level computer crimes as terrorist acts is not an appropriate response to recent events," said EFF Executive Director Shari Steele. "A relatively harmless online prankster should not face a potential life sentence in prison." The ATA includes provisions that dramatically increase the penalties for acts that have no apparent relationship to terrorism. (Sep. 26, 2001)

kinda old i know, but i never even heard of it.

Isn't there some kind of rule where if you say you are leaving then that's it, you're gone? If there's not, there should be. Saying you're leaving is lame in the first place because no one cares. Coming back is doubly lame. Saying you're leaving and not even going away for a time out put's you off the lameness scale and into wanker territory. What kind of lame wanker are you?

i don't care what he calls me, thats his opinon and he's entitled to it. oh would ya look at that? :Q i'm actually a reasonable person. Gosh gee willie.

If a hacker is really good and he can get away with his malicious michief, he deserves the accolades and admiration of the entire hacking community. If he gets caught, then he is just another ignorant scumbag who deserves a few years locked up with Bubba. The moral of this story is if you are going to do something, do it extremely well. After all, part of hacking is getting away with it, isn't it?

That entire bill scares me. All these new "anti-terror" bills scare me. Not a single one will improve our situation.

You guys need to start arming yourselves. We'll be dealing with the Thought Police in 20 years or less.
