Ack, the German language is disgusting. It's like listening to Daffy Duck with peanut butter in his mouth.

When i lived in Holland a few years back, the language (Dutch) was a bit jarring at first. When your around it all the time though, it grows on you. Granted, every time i even attempted to speak dutch, they all spoke back in fluent English, typically with better pronunciation than I.

lol
i prefer the sound of russian to that of german
russian is an interesting language, both very harsh and smooth at the same time

had to find russian dialogue on the spot, and figured that was something relevant as it's a recent movie :)

There is no denying that German isn't the most melodic of languages. I think they would even admit that.

Nice! And yeah, she's always seemed to at least have a decent brain up there...Natalie Portman's fluent in English and Hebrew and speaks passing French, Italian, Spanish and Japanese.

Don't know how I remembered that about her...but now she can make a French remake of "The Professional"! (yeah, that makes no sense)

Bullock was born in Arlington County, Virginia to John W. Bullock, a Pentagon contractor and part-time vocal coach from Alabama, and Helga D. Meyer,[2] a German opera singer who died of cancer on April 4, 2000; Bullock's maternal grandfather was a rocket scientist from Nuremberg. Bullock lived in Nuremberg, Germany until age twelve, where she sang in the opera's childrens' choir at the Staatstheater Nürnberg.[3] She frequently traveled with her mother on her opera tours, and lived in Germany and other parts of Europe for much of her childhood. Bullock studied ballet and vocal arts as a child, taking small parts in her mother's opera productions.

One nice thing about German is that you can learn how to pronounce every word you read in just a day. Other languages may also be like that, but English sure isn't one of them.

Yep. That and how similar much of the vocabulary is to English (or I suppose thats the other way around?) makes it nice...but those are the only two things I can think of.

Beats the hell out of listening to Mandarin Chinese.
