New hope for an HIV cure

Apparently a cure is in the making, a cure for HIV.
Gene Therapy might be the answer.
A new approach where immune system cells are genetically modified to resist infection from the HIV, virus.
If this proves successful not only would this be the cure for those currently infected with HIV, but would prevent future infection of others.
Some of the therapy was discovered while searching for cancer treatments. Several new approaches are in the making.

The HIV viruses have something in common with the Common Cold Viruses. Namely that both of them mutate extremely rapidly. Which is why it is nearly impossible to develop a cure nor a vaccine for neither one of them.
