Grew up on oatmeal for breakfast, normally.

Cold cereals were called "dessert cereal" and served as such.

I still like both oatmeal and dessert cereal but don't eat much of them.

BTW, milk is not always an acquired taste. Some of my children are lactose intolerant and they LOVE milk. It's sometimes said that you get really hungry for stuff you can't eat, and this is the case for them.

Every morning. Cheerios in skim milk + banana + OJ = healthy breakfast win.

I was lactose intollerant as a child and never learned to like the taste of milk (which turns out to be an acquired taste).

That's because humans shouldn't be drinking dairy milk in the 1st place. It's unnatural and completely unnecessary for good health (probably harmful actually given the health of todays cows and processing ot it). I still eat cereal but only use almond milk which is also an aquired taste, though some people like it immediately. But the kind w/ vanilla, that's just too good.

Grown people who eat cereal have stunted emotional growth. Grow ups go get real breakfast at McD.

HUGE cereal fan here. Grew up on it and I eat it several times a week to this day. Love the stuff.

Switched to almond milk from cow's milk a little while back and it's awesome. Cow milk kind of grosses me out.

Breakfast = cold cereal with milk to me growing up. I have always hated hot cereal/oatmeal/mush. However, I will pick a good bagel and cream cheese over cereal every time.

My wife and I both love a nice bowl of cereal and milk for a post-kids-bedtime snack.

bowl of raisin bran every morning, except if I run out of milk and forgot/didn't feel like going to the store the evening before, then I'll stop by mcd's.

I get 4 boxes a month automatically from amazon for $6.90 shipped, and thats right about how many boxes I eat in a month. It's like half price, shipped free, without me having to do anything. Pretty awesome

Tried a huge range of cereal as a kid...eventually moved on to oatmeal (peaches & cream ), instant breakfast and cappuccino.

If I eat cold cereal now, I prefer Kashi. Local cow's milk without the processing though I'll go with non-dairy milk when I have to.

I grew up on chocolate frosted sugar bombs and ate cereal most days until I was around forty. Then I switched to an Atkinsesque diet. It works much better for me.

Even when I've been at my best with low-carb diets, I can't imagine ever giving up cereal permanently. Maybe not every day, I do prefer a heartier breakfast but less work on groggy mornings = better for everyone. More time to sit back, eat, chill, collect myself and go to work ready. If I have to rush in the morning, I hate everyone and life itself. :p

I didn't realize just how dependent I was on "cold cereals" until I recently had all four wisdom teeth yanked.
Cinnabon Cream of Wheat has become my go-to morning staple. God damn that stuff is tasty! Coco Wheats are also quite tasty. :)

Even if I tried my hardest to stick to the paleo-style diet I try and fashion my intake around, it could never work perfectly. I can't give up all grains - bread, pastas, and cereals are too damn good. I can give up extra grains, the granola and other carb-heavy bars/junk, and give up a lot of sugar.
But I can't give all that up, because even paleo recognizes the idea you can't eat meat all day every day - and me and greens, lettuce, hell most vegetables - we just don't see eye to eye.

:):hmm:

Capn' Crunch with Berry FTMFW! I love how that shit cuts up my mouth.

I normally eat cereal as a snack rather than a breakfast food. If my breakfast doesn't involve meat and eggs I don't really want it. But to answer the question, yes I do still eat cereal.

I have certain fond memories of cereal as I used to eat it all the time as a kid. As I got older I ended up no longer eating breakfast though. I'm not really sure when it happened it just kind of did. I guess I used to not have as much trouble getting up in the morning and I'd get up early enough that I actually do have time for it, and I guess I was hungry for it. Now, I don't get hungry before noon so even if I had/made the time I'm just too tired to be hungry.

Now I tend to eat oatmeal a lot but rarely cereal, but usually as lunch, or even supper. Who says certain foods must be eaten for the meal they're made for? :p

I love cereal and still load up my pantry with them especially when there's buy one get one free sales. I'm old school so it's Frosted Flakes, Cookie Crisp, Pops, Fruit Loops etc. and I have to eat em fast before they get soggy. Tho it piss me off that some of the box is so small now and there's no more toys at the bottom of the box.

I've always loved cereal. Not much for breakfast anymore, it's usually a snack or dessert. "Healthy cereal", "candy cereal" it's all good. The only cereals I've had I didn't like were Kix, and Bran Buds. Kix taste like shit. It's like cardboard with milk, and Bran Buds immediately fall apart in the bowl leaving a gritty slurry; not nice...

I have Lucky Charms and Trix on hand right now. I never eat cereal for breakfast though, the cold milk in the morning makes my stomach feel weird.
