Yeah, pretty much. I posted a question in the Tech Support Forum, and while I am grateful for the replies that I did get, I know that I would have gotten many more, much faster, had I posted it in the OT Forum.

i don't start that many threads, and 99% are in FS/OT/DC

i check the Networking forum about once a week and try to answer something if it has low # of replies, i rarely look in any other forums

nefs -> off topic

"real" questions of any sort (on-topic) -> on topic

yeah and then if i get no replies and post in off-topic my i get yelled at for posting in the wrong forum and it gets locked...

That's why you make a thread in OT that points to your thread in another forum. Like so

Yeah when I have certain OS or hardware questions, I think to post here in OT first, but think the mods will move it if they see it's not "OT" anyway. Sometimes they do move it and sometimes they don't. You just gotta word your post / title correctly.
