rofl. Damn right I did.

Two people get pencils, one holds his between his hands. The other holds his pencil in both hands, one hand flicking forward while the other holds the pencil back, so when you let go the pencil comes slamming down and tries to break through the other pencil. The pencil that breaks first is the loser. Really no point to it, but guys will do anything, especially if it involves competition and destruction.

Yeah. I remember people would start using chopsticks or those big superchief pencils or whatever they were called.

Some of those kids were nuts when they played. Making other people bleed and crap.

Where you weave the pencil between your fingers and slam your hand down on the desk?

Yes i did play...

Pencil break is where you trade of hits. One person holds their pencil out horizontally. The other uses his pencil to try to break it by hitting it in a vertical motion. Sort of hard to explain but basically whoevers pencil breaks first after 'trading hits' loses.

No, where you put your thumb and index finger at the ends of the pencil and then someone else takes their pencil, pulls it back, and whacks your pencil in attempt to break it.
I also remember when people would break out their 1" diameter pencils vs someones plain old #2. Not pretty. ;)

We called it pencil fighting...

I remember a company came out with pencils that were made from sawdust and glue. They were like rubber and almost impossible to break. :D

Yup played this tons back in the day. We called it pencil fighting. I used to remove the eraser and bend the round metal part holding the eraser in so that it became kind of a chisel. Every time I hit my opponent's pencil I'd chisel some of it away. Didn't take too long to beat people that way, but it sucked when everyone else started doing it.

I thought it was called "soggy biscuit". Not that I ever played it.... ;)

I never played "pencil break" in school, but we used to play "Bloody Knuckles" a lot. Anyone ever do that?

When we played, the loser had to let the winner thump his knuckles with his pencil in the same manner that you do when playing the game.

Our school actually banned pencil fighting. So, we ended up doing the same thing with our sporks after we were done with our lunch. Basically the same idea except you try to break the whole area where you scoop your food with. First person to break all of that area wins.

Everything seems to be banned in schools these days. What do they play now? "Forbidden Cell Phone Tag"?
Who can talk the longest without getting caught?! Exhilarating!

Or how about the ever popular "smoking in the bathroom" game where everyone's a loser. :p

Does anyone remember the sissy test?

You take a pencil with the eraser cut down level with the metal... then someone erases the back of your hand until you give up... the person who holds out the longest is the coolest.

I still have my scar :-\

That's the way I remember, too. Never did the other one.

Did play paper football (fold a piece of paper up into a tight triangle and "kick" fieldgoals by flicking it thru the "uprights" - another guy's index fingers pointed up with his thumbs touching) :)

Or, you'd hold the "football" between your thumbs with your folded almost as if in prayer and try to fling the "football" thru the "uprights" :D

I used to do this too.....destroyed many a pencil showing off my "strength" . Not too many kids had the balls to attempt to break a pencil when it was weaved between your fingers and you slammed your hand hard down on a desk. I once did it incorrectly and boy did it hurt like a mofo.

fun ol days....thanks for bringing back the memories... I sometimes forget the experiences I've had as a kid.

we had pencil break, but it never caught on. "Bloody Knuckles" was popular though. In fact, if i was challenged by one of my friends to a game of Bloody Knucles for old times sake, id be ready to go.

edit: also add to the list: "gleek", rubber band guns, and taking a wooden ruler with the metallic siding, rub it vigorously against the sole of your shoes until the metal gets extremly hot, place the ruler down with the metallic side facing on a unsuspecting friend's arm.
