Did you ever own a 1x (150KB/s) CD-ROM drive?

i waited to get my first CDROM until the 4X were out, but i went with an upgrade package from Soundblaster, you could trade in your original soundblaster sound card 8bit in on a soundblaster 16 with a scsi interface and a 3X SCSI CDROM drive. it was pretty nice
 
Yep. Me and my brother bought a Pine(now XFX) 1x at Future Shop for $100(the 2x was like $80 more). Put it in a 486DX25. Played Return To Zork with it.
 
hehe yeah. an NEC internal. Then moved up to a NEC 2x, then a HORRIBLE NEC 3x.

From then it was Toshiba , Plextor and Liteon which is currently what I use.

Also had a 1x HP CD burner.
