"Man, I should have worked out and gotten in shape before coming here."

I swear I was the fattest guy there, and I'm not exactly fat either. I have some pudge around the middle, but these people were INSANE looking. I wanted to have sex with a good portion of the women...and hell, why not...the men too!

The first rule of the gym is to leave your pride at the door.

The second rule of the gym is to abstain from anonymous sex with men in the shower at your gym.

I'll admit I'm one of the more built guys you find in the gym, and yeah, if an out of shape guy looks at you they have a look of intimidation. But really I don't care what
shape you are in...just the fact you made it to the gym gives me a whole lot more respect for you then you think.

What I hate is the chicks that go there just to show off and chic-chat on the machines, block'n up traffic, with their hair and nails done. And the hot ones are just a distraction to me working out. All guy gyms are better, if I could find one.

I thought I looked quite good, 6'2 80kg, but I felt like a skinny little boy when I first went to lift weights at a gym. I had to throw some punches and kicks at the heavy bag to make myself feel better...

Yeah, that's very light for someone at 6'2", especially for someone that lifts.

[edit]IMO of course.[/edit]

I did not lift at the time - still don't really, I never stuck with a gym for long.

I did a bit of martial arts at the time though, and worked on construction sites, so I thought I was doing well! Hated the thought that some of these guys could kick my ass through strength alone.

Me too, and I agree 100%. I was at the gym yesterday and there are a few people there that are absolutely grossly overweight. I give them kudos for having the guts to show up and work on their problem.

Now, the ones that show up the first week or so of January.... They piss me off because they're just clogging up the parking lot and the gym for two weeks or so. By the end of the month, things are always back to normal.

The gyms must love January!
