Like every teenager growing up, I got into plenty of arguments with both my parents, but when it came down to it, I knew there was no "challenge", my parents ruled the house and I could either accept it or leave. My dad could always kick my butt from here to next week (which he did when I deserved it), I would not dream of in any way raising a hand towards my father.

My grandmother had a saying on a plaque on the wall "a father is a person you look up to, no matter how tall you grow". I think that fits pretty well.

I never have any 'real' quarrels with family members.

Because when push comes to shove, I know my family will be there for me through the good times and the bad. And something that precious is never worth giving up.

In fact, everyone in my family and extended family has a similar philosophy... so we all get along really well.
