Did you enjoy Baldur's Gate 1/2, Planescape Torment, or Icewind Dale back in the day?

Nice! Do they have any 4:3 resolutions in that high resolution texture pack that is say 1024x768 or larger?

By the way, if anyone is interested...
The entire Baldurs Gate series (including expansion packs), the entire IceWind Dale series (including expansion packs), NWN1 (including all expansion packs), Temple of Elemental Evil, DragonShard, and DemonStone can be purchased in a bundle box for $50, new:

played PS:T for like 10 minutes but got stuck trying to exit the morgue or whatever it was.

beat BG2 at least 10 times now.. fantastic game :)

Icewind Dale - not as fun as bg2, simply because there was little driving force in the game. while it was nice that i could customize my party, this meant there was no party interaction, and little reason for me to care about them or the story (the story was also quite generic... you're going happily along, something bad happens, you hunt down the bad guy, etc.)

IWD2 - never played.

Fenixgoon, try the IWD2NPC mod if you ever get the itch to play a IWD game with a party.

I tried that mod with Baldur's Gate but it kept crashing I think. I think it was also difficult to install.

I beat all those games way back when. It might be worth digging them up again to try then in 1600x1050. It might be worth digging them up again anyway, they were among the best RPGs ever made.

I'm checking this out, I also just ordered the Baldur's Gate II Collection (as I have never played it or Baldur's Gate I) and I can't wait to try this out! I don't have my Planescape CDs anymore but it's about time I ordered a new set aspecially with this mod out.

Sorry since this will probably derail the thread, but someone needs to do something similar to Diablo. There's probably a bunch of other games as well (Fallout series?), which I might get around to playing if they did.

I think most 2D, sprite based games could use such a mod. 640x480 stretched out to 1920x1200 looks terrible.

Hmm. Maybe after I finish up with Mass Effect, it's time for another run through as Nameless. Maybe even be a bastard and see if I can get the Vhailor encounter instead of the Ignus one.

From the article, although this doesn't technically directly answer your question:
"The Widescreen Mod (something of a misnomer, as it can do full-frame tweakery too) also works with both Baldur?s Gates and Icewind Dales. Changing the resolution seems like such a minor thing, but the degree to which it transforms these graphically-hamstrung games into sharp, presentable modernity is genuinely astonishing."

You can specify any resolution you want AFAIK.

Marked for later. Those games have some of the most amazing 2D artwork I've ever seen. Running them in 1680x1050 is going to be awsome!

Here

I get an error when I attempt to install it in my Torment directory though. It seemed to work in the BG2 directory, but I haven't tested it yet.

Bah, I was finally going to give Torment another try, but it won't run after I install this mod. It runs before, but not after, and I didn't get any errors during the install.

I get an install error in PST and it uninstalls itself.

It installs fine in BG2, but because of the changes it writes to the baldur.ini, the game forces you to run the config utility, which rewrites the ini file. Loading the game after this defaults to 640x480. Canceling out of the config utility runs the game, but also at 640. The documentation around this mod seems to be pretty sparse.

Edit - It also errors out on the install for IWD1 for me.

Grr this better work heh. Still waiting for my BG2 to come in the mail.

Have you tried manually adding the config changes?
