Did you cheat in university?

Well I have a friend who has been cheating not only through university but also cheated his way through high school. He was caught once on a test in chem in high school, and now after his first year is over in university he has a 3.9 gpa and its all from cheating, he never studied or really knew anything at all.

Now just curious how much this really goes on, and how much actually get caught.

He claims his method is fool-proof and he wont get caught, so far he hasnt in university (after 1 year)

What about u?

Well if you consider copying HW, borrowing people's notes, and downloading websites with all the solutions before taking classes cheating then yes...

Never cheated on a test though.

I didn't cheat my entire way through my general education classes, but I wasn't completely square either. My major related courses however, no point cheating in those.

A few of my friends cheat off other people sometimes...

Me..the only time is in my English class for vocabulary tests 😱

Edit: This is in HS.

I never needed to, for some reason the school I went to seemed like they were dumbing down the courses to accomodate the less intelligent people who went there. Hell, in college algebra (very basic course) only a few of us knew what cross-multiplication was and how to use it, something I learned in middle school.

So yeah, I could've cheated, but never found myself so behind that I had to, and still pulled a 3.49gpa.

no, there was no point.. i'm not cheating on a test to get an XF and waste away 40g's in college. If I didn't do the hw myself, or at least in a group, it'd be pointless because hw was worth didly... the point of it was to prep for the tests.

Just what it is, tell me please. I tried to cheat while in college, wasn't caught, but if I knew that fool-proof method I think I'd cheat more and have a better GPA.

No cheating here. I "helped" a couple friends on the chem final in high school, but nothing in college. Cheaters in college make me angry...high school is bad enough, but I can almost understand since the government MAKES you go. But college, you're paying for it, and you're basically pissing in the swimming pool for everyone else.

I paid people to go to college for me.Never even seen how a college room look like. All I had to do was go to the graduation ceremony to receive my degree.

I guess I will be the first one to fess up. In my basic CS class, a good friend of mine was stuck on a program. I (very stupidly) offered to email him mine because he was going through a lot of personal issues and didnt have the time to devote that I did. I expected him to use mine in case he got stuck but instead he "built on mine" and probably last minute too. End result, TA reported us to the prof, we argued (a lot), the prof basically told us to say goodbye to our A and count our lucky stars that he didnt kick us out. I spent the rest of the semester going above and beyond the prof requirements on the programs and even wrote a really long and hard paper on real time OS's (this is a freshman class). I ended up with an A (had 100% in the rest of the class + bonus) because I think the teacher had a bit of mercy for me.

I learned my lesson the hard way and I wish a million times that I hadn't placed myself in that situation.

Never needed to. When the entire final exam is literally 100% "cut and paste" from previous quizzes - which we have - and you've got a photographic memory, A+ just happens. 😛

I cheated on a few finals.

As soon as you get to your spot and get your paper, write down everything you can remember on the desk in EXTREMELY small writing. Use code, acronyms, shorthand - whatever - just get it down. Then you can slide your exam over very covertly and peek at the stuff you wrote down as you go along. Helps for those 3 hour finals where one can tend to draw a blank about 2 hours in.

You can also hide tiny cheat sheets inside calculator covers or save numerical hints in the calculator's memory.
