Did you believe in Santa Claus when you were a child?

I did up until one year when I guess I asked for too much and got a letter explaining why I wouldn't be getting anything from "him" that year.

Nope, but I used to pretend my parents were Santa Claus which was good enough.

Nobody ever told me there wasn't a SC but I never believed it anyhow, even when I was really small.

There's nothing quite like the innocence of youth,

I remember believing that there were little poeple in TV sets that made it work. (when i was wicked young)
When my uncle told me that his side mirror adjustor switches were switches to extend the wings of his Rolls Royce (so it could fly), i believed him.
I believed in Santa just because it was fun and kept 'believing' even when i figured out he wasn't real.

AJ.

I was five years old when I wandered into the gigantic attic in our house.

I opened a closet and found a set of electric trains, a sled and a punching bag. I'm sure there was a lot more but I can't remember.

I never said a word and dutifully acted surprised and pleased on Christmas day.

Yes, until I hit that age where common sense took over blind childhood faith and innocence and I found out that for Santa to move fast enough to hit every house in the world in one night he would burst into flames shortly after leaving the ground.
