Did Voodoo 5 5500 come with a special dvi connector for Macs?

I flashed my MAC version to PC and I was curious as to if the DVI output worked. I have a Radeon VE dvi to svga adapter and it doesnt fit. There is like 1 or 2 pins that are different.

Did the V5 have a special connector? Or does the ATI version adapter I have proprietary to ATI?

😕

If I had to take a guess, the V5 is using Apple's "ADC" connecter. It's a DVI connection that also has a few pins to allow the monitor to get power from the connection, along with USB ports(and through said USB ports, the ability to put the Mac into sleep mode by shutting off the monitor).

That's pretty messed up. You would figure they would use industry standards....
I guess that is just not the Mac way.......

Well its a good thing I dont actually need the connection. I was looking at prices and the stupid adapter costs like 40 bux.......:disgust:

Actually the Mac V5 5500 does come with the DVI-D standard as it was before Apple moved on to their ADC proprietary standard. The card even has an external TDMS chippy. However, it doesn't work when you flash the BIOS to PC mode. I learned the hard way.

If it was before the ADC standard, then why does the adapter from my Radeon VE not work? I thought that was a typical adapter........ Physically it just doesnt fit.......
