I heard last week one of the out of control wild-fires was about a half-mile from a grove of ancient Sequoia's in CA. I never heard anything else... I think those things are amazing. It would be a shame to see them burned. Although I've read they are actually able to with stand some fire...
Btw, the most famous of them "General Sherman" is 274 feet tall and is about 4,000 years old. They will continue to grow as long as they are the ground and living. Amazing.
