did this forum have any substance before the confusing not release of XP?

just curious...

difficult to find anything interesting in the midst of 50,000 posts with the same XP questions/issues.

Can it really be that difficult...I thought this was supposed to be friendlier than ME... perhaps therein lies the problem?

Look....I suspect most people here down-loaded XP from somewhere. They have no written documentation, although books on the subject are just coming out. "XP For Dummies", if you're a dummy, for instance. It's easier to post a question than to look up the answer. It IS more user-friendly than ME, most of the time you plug something in...it works. You plug in a network card.....bingo, you've got a working network. It's a big OS....many new features. Of course there will be questions/problems. Realize this is not some stupid 20mb Linux build.

Realize this is not some stupid 20mb Linux build.

I would certainly hope not.

A stable build that is functional before it is released to the general public is more or less a given for linux.
