I was just playing Resident Evil 0 For GC, i've had it for a while playing it on and off. So today it's snowing and i have no school so i decided to play it and beat it today. Well after 3 hours of playing, i got up to the final boss, and i died. Went to reload my game from last save point, "Memory Card Data File is Corrupted". ?!?>#?!@$>!$>!@%>>!@#$!<$<!$!<!<$#<!@$<!%!#$()%@(%....Man am i pissed off! Did this ever happen to you?

Yeah, that used to happen with my cheapo Dreamcast memory card.

Also, I've had GTA3 on PS2, Halo and Mechassault on XBox and Metroid on GC just lock up on me.

Ahhh...the wonders of consoles becoming more like PCs.

Nope. :)

Though the equivalent I can think of is having an old NES game like SMB3 and leaving the power on to save progress only to have it turned off at world 8.

Oh god don't buy 3rd party memory cards. Spend the extra $4 and have some peace of mind.

Had that happen to me TWICE on FF7 on Playstation before I finished it. It felt like I played the game three times. I was using some third-party memory card.

I never use 3rd party memory cards.

I'm not really a fan of 3rd party controllers/accessories either, but I'd use anything but a memory card from another company.

Not to me but a friend lost all his Grand Turismo 2 data from a non-Sony memory card once. He had hundreds of hours in that garage. It's enough to make you cry! :Q

I was playing Evolution on Dreamcast. The "dungeons" are randomly generated, and they try to artificially inflate the difficulty of the game by making it so that you can't save in the dungeon except at specific save points that are usually right before the boss.
It was the last dungeon and I had been mashing through it for like 2 hours.
Well, the thing screwed up, I hadn't reached a save point in many floors, and it randomly generated a room that I could enter but not exit. I was completely screwed. As a matter of fact, I haven't played Evolution since that night!

Never happened, but that really does suck. I'd be smashing things. Starting with the mem card.
Also, I've had GTA3 on PS2, Halo and Mechassault on XBox and Metroid on GC just lock up on me.
Weird - I remember Midnight Club sometimes would lock on my PS2, but otherwise I've never had any locks on my PS2 and now that I have an Xbox none on either of those two games you mentioned (and I play MA more than I care to mention). I want to see a blue screen on my xbox though :D

It's weird....i was at the store earlier today, and i saw a 3rd party card that had a supposed 'Data Protection Guarantee' or some similar wording that basically said it wouldn't do that..but i have to wonder how reliable that actually is.

One of my friends had it happen to him while playing Lunar. He's going to try to send the stick back to the company and hope they can recover the data.
