Did they really have to show that?

MSNBC just decided to show photographs of a Crocodile with part of a Zoo worker's arm still in its mouth, complete with blood and tendons pouring out.

Did showing crystal clear, close-up photos of this carnage really add to the story? Sometimes I'd really just rather hear the info and leave the visuals to my imagination.

It's ratings, and yes there are millions out there that thrive on this stuff. Cable news is a train wreck none of us can turn away from.

 Ok, there, tough guy. I suppose you're right. I don't particularly enjoy looking at severed arms, so clearly I'm exactly what's wrong with our nation today.

I don't condone censorship, I was very impressed with the photo. Most news cites think all people are whimps and can't handle such things. If I were a preschooler, I might feel differently, but that is not the case.

i thought it was a cool picture. the hand being all cramped up into a fist was interesting too, i remember in faces of death the bear that tore up a dumbass that was feeding it and casually ran away with the forearm in its mouth, the hand was waving at the camera. i wonder why this one is clenched... or why that one was relaxed? im not sure which one is odd.

I can only imagine how much getting your arm torn off by a crocodile must hurt.

And how glad the crocodile must be.

But I don't see a problem with showing the picture

Dude, I'm forced to watch a lot of Spanish television and it's been like that for a long time. Showing extended shots of corpses.....action shots of murders.....all between 4:00 to 6:00 at night when families are watching.

Here's a better question. Why was that on the news? Some idiot got his arm bit off by a crocodile... great, but why is that national news?

For what it's worth, it was a vet, not just some random person who decided to fvck with a crocodile.

MSNBC reporters scour ATOT - the story was reposted several times here, so they figured that it definitely something that was newsworthy.
