Did they made a mistake with NFS:Most Wanted and the Shadows??

Dont have time to provide pics, but if you can download the demo, you can compare both set of shadows.

1-Medium Shadow.Let say a building is casting shadows on my car, well the shadows cast on my car look a bit weaker than the shadow the car my car cast on the ground. It give it a more realistic shadow feel

2-High shadow. All the shadows look darkers, but have some animations. The reason why it take lot of juice, but the overall look is not as good as medium shadow. You have to compare both set to really see which one you like.

If i have time later, i will post pick to compare both

I do think medium looks better/more realistic. Trees do not cast such a perfect shadow that outlines every opening in the tree and every bare spot.

But dont you agre that the intensity of the shadow cast in the high setting are a bit over -exagerated compare to medium? Its where i want to go with this story.

Yes, that is quite true actually, never noticed that before.

edit: I see the pics are in widescreen? How did you get the game to play in widescreen?

Technically they are more realistic because they are displayed at a higher resolution, so it accurately depicts the geometry that is casting the shadow. The med-shadows are done at a lower resolution but perhaps with a larger filter to soften them out, required less resolution then the high-qual ones.
