I only saw the lawyer get to 32000 and no lifelines, didn't see anymore after that. The show is boring.

there are certainly some idiots on that show.

but there are some genuine smart ones. like the dude that won the million without using a lifeline. he was a smartass though. he used "phone a friend" on the last question just to call his dad and say he had won

"Get rid of the requirement"? I never knew they had one.

I'm not sure I can count on one hand the number of times some of these idiots are out of life lines by the 2K mark.

What really pisses me off is these numbskulls who talk to themselves for 10 minutes while trying to decide their answer. I can just imagine the other contestants are thinking to themselves ,"crap or get off the pot so I can play you moron". ;)

I can usually guess 99% of the answers while I sit at home but I know that if it was me up there in front of the world I would freeze. I'd be lucky to get to the 32K.

I was kinda referring to the farmer who didn't seem to know anything mildly intellectual or anything based on technology which was invented in the last 30 years (Like what the square button on the vcr does). He called his daughter because he didn't know what type of triangle had a hypotenuse.

Oddly enough, though, he made it up to 250,000.

<< "Get rid of the requirement"? I never knew they had one. >>

From what I remember, it's actually pretty tough to make it on the show.
First Round: People wishing to participate must call an 800 number and correctly answer 3 multiple choice questions. You have to enter your social security number and birthdate, and so you can only play once a day (if you can even get through....the phone lines are always busy). Of the people that correctly answered the questions, they are then placed in a random drawing.

Second Round: From the random drawing, 40 semi-finalists are selected to play in the second round. They are all be called at the same time, and each person must correctly answer five questions that are much harder than the three in the first round. Out of those that get all five correct, 10 are randomly selected to play on TV in the final round.

But if I remember correctly, then rarely does 10 or more people get all five (or even four) questions correct; then they randomly choose from the highest scorers. This is where the idiot factor comes in - it's easy to keep trying in round one until you get all three correct, so with a little luck in round two just about anybody can make it if they try hard enough.
