just finished my last 10# bag that i had for the past 6 months and re-ordered from dps.
the package is definitely different but so is the taste, and not for the better.
it's not horrible, but not as good as before.
the numbers are the same though.

i've used ON strawberry in the past extensively and the taste has never changed from package to package.

Well first off LOL it took you 6 months to finish the bag. Secondly they did change the packaging so make sure you ordered the same kind as before. They have gold standard, all natural, etc. They use slightly different igredients as well as sweeteners in each. Also I don't know how much you are paying for your protein but when I get it off BB.com the price difference between 2 5lbers and 1 10lber is very minial and they offer a lot more flavors in the 5lb size. Also they are currently selling a 16 packet variety pack which allows you to try out a lot of different flavors. Also in my opinion strawberry is a pretty bad flavor by ON. Try another brand if you like stawberry.

I never did like the ON strawberry flavor. It always tasted too artificial and "chemical-ey" to me.

Eight years ago I bought a 5lb tub of strawberry ON and it was the worst stuff ever. Took forever to gag it down, tasted like drain cleaner with an artificial and bad strawberry overlay. Since then I've known that there is nothing special about ON at all. It's not a matter of personal preference; that was simply a terrible concoction. That said, I've also found it very difficult for other manufacturers to make a drinkable strawberry flavor, which is why I've generally stuck with vanilla, banana, and most often chocolate.

When trying a new brand of protein, always start with their chocolate flavor. It seems to be the easiest one to get right. If their chocolate flavor is not good, then stay far away from everything else.

Interestingly, ON has a "sampler pack" with all kinds of weird flavors:

link

Here are the flavors:

# Banana Cream
# Caramel Toffee Fudge
# Chocolate Malt
# Chocolate Mint
# Cookies & Cream
# Delicious Strawberry
# Double Rich Chocolate
# Extreme Milk Chocolate
# French Vanilla
# Mocha Cappuccino
# Orange Cream
# Rocky Road
# Root Beer Float
# Strawberry Banana

I tried their extreme milk chocolate and french vanilla awhile back and was not impressed. Some of those flavors seem like they would be extremely difficult to get correct, especially considering the limited sugar/fat they have to work with. After all, if you add too much fat and sugar to it, it doesn't really fit the definition of a protein supplement anymore.

My guess is caramel toffee fudge tastes like anal leakage.

I bought the sampler pack when i was finding a protein powder with less cholesterol. They stir very easily but taste terrible.

I don't know if it was the water i was using but i just couldn't the good taste reviews i had seen online.

Every single one of those flavors tastes terrible? You've tried all of them? Even the orange cream and root beer float?

That's discouraging. I was thinking about buying the sampler pack.

Oh well, I guess I'll just stick to good old ON chocolate. The strawberry flavor is too chemical-ey, and the vanilla is too bland.
