Did these games (Oblivian/BF2) have serials on the box?

I'm found some old games but only the disks and manuals -Oblivian, BF2 boxed sets, probably bought from BB a decade ago. But I don't have the boxes and I'm wondering if theres a serial number on the box which is necessary for installation.

No, they never put codes needed for installation on the box.

The numbers would be on the back of the manuals or on a separate sheet in the box.

I have all my old games in a binder as the boxes/cases/manuals are all still stored at my parents (LOL). At one one, I went through all the games and copied down the serials for future use. I don't have one for Oblivion so I don't think it even came with one.

i remember people looking up auctions for games on ebay because the seller would forget to cover up the serial number

iirc oblivion was drm-free.

Oblivion had a disc check at startup.
