Did the Wiimote deliver on the promises made in 2005?

Remember when you first saw the trailer above? It premiered online in September 2005 when Nintendo president Satoru Iwata revealed the Wii remote (then called the ?Revolution? remote, of course) at the Tokyo Game Show.

Think about the possibilities it presented ? the kinds of things that you would be able to do with the Wii controller!

There were twelve Wiimote movements shown in the trailer. So how many of them have actually been used in Wii games?

We decided to go through the dozen techniques, with a shot-by-shot analysis. Has Nintendo delivered on the hype?

Here are our findings:

Pretty good topic to bring up I think. It looks like there have been games that have delivered on most of the movements. How well (Red Steel for example) is a question that isn't asked though. But, the lack of 1:1 controls is of course a bit of a hindrance.

Drumming was done (to an extent) in Rayman Raving Rabbids. Trama Center was medical surgery too. Hopefully that new Star Wars game (outcast?) will take sword fighting up a notch.

Force Unleashed. Yeah, that (especially the multi-player portion of it) looks like it could be a blast. The Wii version of Force Unleashed won't have the graphics or physics of the PS3 and 360 version but the motion controls will likely make up for that if they are done well enough.

Trauma Center wasn't mentioned for number 7, and the mario flick spin move (from Galaxy) should have been mentioned for number 8, as that part of the video was demonstrating an early build of SMG.

the question I have is, when are we gonna get those cool colored remotes/chucks? 😛

I guess Nintendo figures they're having a hard enough time keeping up with demand as it is to bother with any colors (whether it be system or peripheral) to entice new (and even current) users
