Did the original AMD k6's use the same socket setup as the pentium 2's?

The K6 is the same pinout as the original Pentium. The P2 is the Slot 1 version. I used both the Amd and Intel on my old Abit TX-5 and AX-5. You just change the jumper settings from what I remember.

ok, i was mistaken about the p2 being a socket setup. But you did answer my question L8CS, I'm trying to do a rebuild on an old maching and it didn't make a whole lot of sense to me that there would be an AMD processor on an i430tx board.

It's just my lack of knowledge with these older pc's But thank you..
