Did the bank make an error in my favor?

I called the bank up to see if a check had cleared and I checked the balance and the balance is higher than what I should have. I checked the recent activities and last Monday there was a deposit for 100 dollars. I don't remember cashing any checks and I know I did not get any extra money from my job. I only get paid every other Thursday's and they won't just deposit money into the account without a written authorization first. Should I be concerned that there's this extra cash in my account or should I go ahead and spend it.

DON'T SPEND IT!

If there was a bank error, they will eventually find out and take the money back. Then you will be $100 short all of a sudden.

Best bet is to call the bank and ask what's up.

Banks don't usually make mistakes. I'd get details about the deposit before spending any of it.

If you discover it was actually a bank error but they deny that it is an error, DO NOT SPEND THE MONEY! If you do, and they find out any time later that it was a bank error, you can get in trouble with the feds for fraud even though you told them it wasn't your money and they said it was.

I was paying bills online the other day when I noticed my balance was about $2000 higher than what I showed it to be. Yeah, good advice, don't spend it.

I think I have an idea of where this extra money might have come from but I'm still going to talk to a Customer Service Rep tomorrow to be certain. I don't wanna get into financial trouble.
