Hi,

I did something extremely stupid. I thought that i would be able to run my 1Ghz Atholon T-bird at a better bus speed. So I went into the Advance menu in the A7V133 bios and selected user defined for the Operating frequency setting
then just to check if it will work I changed my multiplier to x7 and then changed my bus frequency to 133 which would give me 133 x 7 = 931Mhz...now i did this to see if it would work.

I saved my settings and then rebooted...well as you can guess nothing came up. No even the POST process so not even the keyboard comes up. or at least i dont think that it comes up.

SO what should i do...i am think that if i take out my CMOS battery. that will work. Is this a right way? Please Help!

Thanks

Whenever I set something wrong I turn it on for about 15 seconds, then turn it off with the PSU SWITCH! (Not the case switch) and that always resets my CPU speed. I tried it with the case switch but that doesnt seem to always work, where the PSU switch does.

shorting the cmos on yur mobo means to use a screw driver and touch it to the two solder points.

these points are locating right below the cmos battery (the round silver thing)

you'll see them. they look like two little metal dots. just touch your screw driver to both points at once. that should do the trick

good luck

hey Dulanic, i never knew the psu switch worked. i'll try that out :) thx

That's what happened to me with A7V133 + D700. I underclocked it to 5*90, I think to check the BIOS multiplier and frequencies, and wouldn't even POST. I went to JUMBERED position (read manual carefully) with normal 7*100 as my Duron officially is, and then bang....everything was normal again. I think I had to play a bit with the reset switch as well.
After running it 2 days I pulled the cpu out, unlocked it by pencil, and worked it JUMBERED for a while. Then it was JUMBERLESS, which works quite ok.
Erasing CMOS was the last thing I did (using screwdriver), and installed 1004 version.

My system is running fine at 6*133, and also tested at 7*110, 8*100, 7*120, but not over 133 just yet.....

BTW, I do have a problem with the half multiples, which don't work, but someone in here suggested that i didn't leave enough pencil lead on the left of the L1 bridges. I still haven't tried correcting that since i'm waiting for a better cooler to arrive first, but anyone reading this, I'd like suggestions!!!

good luck

So is this the only way to get this done. cause this is my last resort. because i thought that if i reset the cmos it should reset the BIOS to default which should work fine to.

but if that does not work then i will have to do this...btw...dooing what i did set the multiplier to 9*133=931 will that burn the chip up?

because i do not get any sound from my speaker...but i am thinking if the BIOS does not even post then i dont think i will here the sound from my sound card...

First, what the h3ll is a jumber? :)

When mine won't post all I've had to do was shut it off once, sometimes twice, and it would auto boot into the bios with a message about improper settings...
