Did someone beat the crap out of Stewart Scott on ESPN's Pregame show?

Why is he wearing sunglasses when no one else is? Also, notice the camera angles taken - they seem to try to avoid showing him.

What's up with that??

That was my first thought. I don't want to make fun of the guy if he has an eye condition or something like that, but it just looks funny with him being the only one with shades.

And they don't really look that good, because they seem to big for his face. Maybe trying to hide something? :)

He's got some serious eye problems. No joke.

He is blind or nearly blind in one eye (I don't know the story of how or why)... and was hit in the good eye by a football at some training camp earlier this season. I think he suffered a detached retina in his good eye. He was missing from ESPN for a while after that happened.

I'm not a big fan of his, but for his sake I hope he can maintain whatever vision he's got.

To bad the ball didn't hit him in his mouth

Here's a link.

Story of Stuart Scott's Training Camp Mishap

He was filming something at Jets training camp. He missed a machine-thrown pass, that hit him in the left eye, apparently splitting the lens and cornea. Ouch.

His right eye had previously suffered a detached retina and was the "bad" eye. So the glasses/bandages he's wearing today are probably the result of another surgery on the left eye.

Booyah.
