Did Seagate leave the SSD business?

They had some SSDs using the LAMD controller, but I just noticed, I don't see them anymore at Newegg.

I remember reading that some other company bought LAMD, so perhaps Seagate was left high and dry without a future controller supplier.

Dahak's got it right I think. They're likely gearing up for the next phase of Seagate SSDs which I can only imagine will be based off of SandForce tech

Yea, buying Sandforce doesn't sound like "leaving". 😉 I suspect they may have exhausted their inventory of the LAMD drives, now that the supplier has been snapped up.

i dont think they were ever in the "ssd" business. they look round and bought someone, they never in house develop their own consumer line. Its probably easier that way, just buy someone.
