Did Rockstar file a patent on open world westerns?

I'm shocked there isn't a single RDR clone on the market. Not one is there? Call of Juarez is good but those aren't the same. You can't just chill and live the western life in those. I just want to rope my cattle, practice around practice shooting birds. What gives, gang? We have a million GTA clones. 😛

No its just that the post apocalyptic and not-to-distant-future genres are much more popular. And zombies. Companies would rather milk a fad than come up with something new.

Having said that, New Vegas is sorta kinda westernish. If you keep an open mind.

Shorty, when do you think these fads are going to return back to WWII shooters? I haven't had my nazi fix in a long time.

What's Volition up to lately?

Saints Row The Fifth: Blazing Gangstas

Which would actually make sense given how Saints Row IV ended. 😀

Damn, RDR was so good. I remember just riding around with the scenery in the background and listening to the music. Great atmosphere.

That's what I keep hearing. I just bought a 360 for the kids. I'll have to check it out. It makes me crazy it never came to PC...

I'd also LOVE for some sort of NOLF type game. that game had more personality and character than every COD combined.

Also it had Kate Archer

I can't look it up now, but I think RDR was so expensive they didn't make much money on it (if at all). I think it scared people away, because of a game as well done and highly rated as RDR can't profit then why bother?

I may be misremembering though

Why isn't the Master Chief Collection on PC? Why no Last of Us? Why no Uncharted? Why no Condemned 2? It ain't just westerns.
