Did Rampage have an ending?

Recently a friend of mine and I started playing Rampage and decided that we were going to beat the game. Well after day 365 and all cities being repeated several times, we realized that it is probably a never ending game, like gauntlet.

We were playing the Midway's Arcade Classics version for PS2. Were any versions beatable?

i used to play the hell out of it also, and never experienced an ending.

perhaps the MAME version (arcade rom) has an ending... i'd be happy to check for you.

Funny. Some people search for the meaning of life. Cure for cancer. You search for the ending of Rampage.

Perhaps it IS the meaning of life ;)

you never know

What's the consensus? . . . ending or not

i played Q*bert 'till i had to sleep but it never ended either . . . it was 'like that' way back when . . . i always liked the Huge Endings when you terminated the Final Boss.

found a large selection of arcade endings here but Rampage isn't on the list...

PSA: beware, popups in FF...

Hmmm. Thanks for the investigative reporting meltdown. It looks as though Rampage was infinite, but I'm just going to have to buy the old arcade cabinet to be sure. What do I have to lose other than my sanity. MWAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAAH...

AmdInside, and your point is... :)

Is Rampage that game where you're either the green dinosaur, gorilla, or huge rat and you destroy the cities???

well if that IS the game you're talking about, i know the nintendo version of the game has an ending since i actually wasted a part of my life and beat it just for the heck of it. Of course the ending was something totally not worth it. It was something like just "congratulations" and "thanks for playing."

If i've mistaken the game, then please disregard this pointless posting.

THANKS

I believe you are referring to Godzilla Rip-Off, King Kong Rip-Off, and Giant Wolfman Rip-Off. (those were the days)

Although I'm glad to hear there is a version with an end, I don't know if I can play through another 365 days, especially on the NES version. I'd be too tempted to just play Contra.
