my system is a
AMD k6-2 500mhz
384 megs ram
win98se
w/ a dual video card setup
Elsa Gloria-L PCI 8mb card
slaved with a Voodoo2 8mb Card
I have the voodoo card because although elsa says its card supports opengl, a driver was never written to make it work. (at least that's what i was told). so my voodoo card is connected to the elsa with a pass thru cable, and when opengl kicks in the voodoo card takes over.
was playing counterstrike tonight and was going trying to disconnect when the game froze, i waited awhile and nothing happened so i hit reset.
now when i try to load a CS game it just hangs on a screen that says loading...which is not what it even normally shows when it loads a game. usually i see console information.
several times it has given me the error message:
The selected OpenGL mode is not supported by your video card
when i tried to load Soldier of Fortune it says
Not a Wicked3d Voodoo2 board(glide2x.dll). Board with multitexturing is required. Use the other version of the driver for boards with one texture unit.
it would let me load CS in software mode, but the res was total crap.
anyway, would this indicate something wrong with the voodoo card? nothing had been changed to the system, just froze on disconnecting from CS.
even if, not a total disaster, system overhaul planned next weekend. but i want to be able to game in the mean time. thanks for any information you can provide.
