Did OCing mess up my ti200?

Well, I have a LeadTek GF3-ti200, came with 3.8ns ram. During the hype of OCing these bad boys, I set NVMax to keep the card at 220/510 at startup. This caused no problems with Windows or in games.

Now, about 2 months later, I am simply using my PC in Windows with simple email or newsgroup apps and I am getting artifacts. The system now sometimes randomly re-boots. I clocked it back to stock 175/400 and I still have some random pixels that are different colors pop up on the screen from time to time. The fan is fine on the GPU and the cover is even off the case to rule out cooling issues.

Did I mess up my Ti200 by overclocking too much for too often? Has anyone else seen similar problems?

My current OS is WinXP Pro, and drivers are 22.80's (I believe).

Have you made any physical modifications to the card? Such as changing the HSF or adding Arctic Silver on there?

Yes, I added AS because I removed the HSF when checking out the Ram speed. Wiped off stock grease and replaced with Artic Silver.

You may have added TOO much AS on the core or have some ASII in some bad places.. ASII is conductive. If that's the case, take the HSF and wipe off the ASII. Then re-apply some but just about the size of a grain of rice and spread it around the core. Just make sure none of it is leaking over the sides of the core

I've had a similar problem before and it was because I had too much AS on the core.

Thanks, that seemed to fix it. Removed AS and re-applied a small ammount. All is well :D
