Did newegg sell me a USED 7800 GTX?

I was just getting ready to install my 2nd BFG TEch 7800 GTX when I noticed that the yellow "Attention observe precautions for handling electrostatic sensitive devies" sticker they use to sell the bag had been ripped open and another sticker placed on top of it.

This leads me to believe the card was returned and now newegg is selling me what was suppose to be a new card when in fact it's been used.

I'm really pissed right about now. How the hell do I know what was done with this card?

So what should I do? Contact newegg and get another card sent to me? :|

What's the possibility they broke the seal at the factory and then resealed it? Could this be a refurb from BFG Tech?

I'm pretty sure that BFG does that for most of these cards. If i remember correctly they do that when they check the cards or when they change the thermal compound. I just cant' remember the exact reason, but when i got my bfg 7800gtx's some people were asking about the double sticker issue and BFG i think had told us that it was normal.

Yeah, but the sticker underneath was ripped apart. Is that normal? If it is, it's pretty stupid because people are going to think as I did.

Now I'm not sure what to do. Just install it or contact newegg and find out what's going on. If it's been used I don't want some card someone else overclocked or something.

Yes, the sticker was ripped. You can email or call bfg support and they should get back to you quickly.

Maybe you ordered it off their refurb or open list by accident?

Hey if it works just use it, but that's just me.

I don't know if you've installed it yet or not, but you can usually tell if a card has been used by looking closeley at the slot contacts.

Both of my BFG 7800GTXs came that way OP. Like someone else mentioned, BFG opens them at the factory. Nothing to worry about unless your cards don't work for some reason.
