My sons computer is running a 1ghz slot 1 P3 on an Abit BH 6 MB today it quit posting nothing showing on the monitor except the no signal message. I removed the Gforce 3 videocard and put in my old TNT2 ultra card just to see if I could see it post or get some video but still nothing shows on the monitor. Im guessing that the AGP section of the MB has gone dead all of the fans work on the cpu and video card so im sure the powersupply is working ok. One other thing it has started doing is not shutting off when the power button is held down ,I have to unplug it to kill it . My guess is something happened to the motherboard anyone else have any ideas?
Thanks

Did your son flash a wrong BIOS OR did He Play with the DMI ver 1.2 software come with most
P3 Board is a driver in one CD

I the DMI has been configer take the Batt out & unplug you system for about 10 to 16 week
so that there is nothing for the board to remeber ( Back to the old Config )

Given the symptoms you described it's quite possible it's just the power button is faulty. To test the theory just take a flathead screwdriver and short the 2 pins that the power button wires are hooked to, if it boots then it's the button is faulty. If that turns out to be the case then depending on the board and case you may be able to just hook the reset switch to the power on pins and use it as the power button.

EDIT:Bah! another thread scan misses key info, the fans spinning make the faulty switch a negatory. So, just because the fans spin doesn't mean the PSU is OK, if you have another known good PSU try it, I've seen numerous PSUs die that shwoed similar symptoms, or would work fine for 1-5min then just shutdown.
