Did my files get damaged by converting from fat32 to ntfs?

? my mp3's are making popping sounds... and im having problems with my movies... could it be from the converting process?

well, you're more converting the way the files are stored than the files themselves...so i don't think you're files were "changed" at all.

maybe you should defrag?

yeah.. i defragged, reinstalled drivers, and physically checked wire connections.. and it seems to be at 99% of what i was at before.. i might do a full format and reinstall of win2k... i was having a few win98 problems beforehand

well, i'm positive you're files are intact, but i agree with your re-install. i would never convert a file system w/out a clean install...it's a very big change. it's kind of like upgrading your mobo/cpu without re-installing windows...sure you CAN do it, but don't like to and usually end up re-installing anyway

start fresh with ntfs and you'll be hooked up
