How weird is this. I left my computer on overnight a couple nights ago, I am using an msi k8n neo2 btw. Anyways, in the morning I woke up and checked on it. The download I had going stopped. I checked my cable modem and all lights are on and its connected. My computer does not show that network cable unplugged icon either. Anyways I am using the nvidia ethernet port at the time, I go into control panel/network connections. There I do a disable of the nvidia ethernet port, this hangs my system and than when I end the program and do a shutdown, my system hangs on the shutdown. Now, I play with this a bit. Uninstall and re-installing the ethernet port through hardware manager and driver re-install. Still can't get internet connection through the port. I do a format and re-install of windows, same problem. Once I install nforce3 drivers, again the port is recognized and drivers installed, but cant get internet through it. Once I again I try disable of the port and it hangs my system. NOW, the realtek port works just fine. So I've disable the nvidia port in bios and am using my realtek port now. But how weird is this ? WTF? Did my port die or something ? The system still sees it, and its able to be set to auto/disable in bios and that works. But it cannot work anymore hooked up to my cable modem, btw there is no router or anything else like that involved here. Now I know the first boot of neo2 or with cmos reset when you boot up it does that maclan searching business etc.. I thought maybe if it goes through that again it might work ? I have no idea wtf happened. At this point I think the nvidia ethernet port just spontaneously up and croaked on me. Any thoughts on this ?
