I was running two instances of prime95, around the 64k of the torture test, my computer rebooted, but when it did i no longer detected the main hard drive untill i completely turned off my computer and turned back on. also when i go and checj the log of prime95 it doesn't say it failed anywhere after it says 64k passed for either cores. i'm kind of a new to overclocking so did my hard drive just fail for that little moment or was it my cpu?

Thats a symptom of file corruption. When overclocking (especially ram overclocking) if you push it too far you can corrupt device drivers and/or OS files, sometimes requiring a repair install of the OS or worst case a fresh OS install and/or device drivers
