Got a pair of dual channel 512MB PC3200 Level One sticks from Mushkin as a present. They're replacing my really old PC2100s (2x256)
For some reason, when I installed both modules (dual channel setup), the BIOS reads it as 768MB total. I thought it was a bit odd so I pulled one out, one read at 512. Pulled that one out, put in the other one, it reads it at 256. Tried every slot there is, all reads it at 256.
Now, doesn't Mushkin actually test these two pairs before they ship them? The stickers on the heatspreader says 512 clearly on both modules.
Only worries I have is that it could be the board maybe? I've tried searching the threads for something like this and hopefully it's just a mistake that Mushkin made. I just wanted to make sure it's the RAM, not anything else.
Currently using Abit NFS-7 version 2.0 as the motherboard.
Please advise.
