Rumors are flying that filmmaker Morgan Spurlock of "Super Size Me" fame may have done what the United States government has failed to do for the last six years ? find Osama bin Laden.

The speculation first began at the Berlin International Film Festival in February, where Spurlock showed a select group of potential buyers 15 minutes of footage from his new documentary, "Where in the World Is Osama bin Laden?" The film follows Spurlock through the Middle East in his search for the elusive leader of al-Qaida. According to Slashfilm.com, The Weinstein Co. quickly snapped up the picture after seeing the clips.

Adding to the belief, Daniel Marracino, the film's director of photography, is quoted in Variety, saying of the movie, "We've definitely got the Holy Grail."

Whether this is just a genius publicity ploy or if Spurlock actually found bin Laden has yet to be revealed, but the answer should come next year, when the documentary is slated to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival.

I like Morgan Spurlock for entertainment purposes, but like Michael Moore, I can't always accept his word as truth.

Is this the same guy that claimed to have found the tomb of Jesus and all of his children?

Honestly, i wouldn't be surprised of OBL was dead from natural causes by now... the guy is old as hell and he needs a dialysis machine.

LOL

And I actually do agree with whoever said about treason -- if he really did find him and 'let him go'. I don't believe it at all though.

What's Osama's bounty now a days anyway?

You know what I mean waggy. I didn't literally mean it like that but if I was him, I'd be speed dialing the FBI once I got done talking to him.

Me: "Hi FBI. I found Osama. Where's my money"
FBI: "WTF? Where are j00?"
Me: "Middle East duh"
FBI: "For realz man? KK we are sending our best agent to you"
ME: "Who brah?"
FBI: "Anandtech Moderator you n00b!"
ME: "Kthxbye"

I would imagine it's considerably easier for a film crew to find him than for the US military or CIA.

Just put out the word that you want to film an interview with him for the West. Word will filter to his people. His guards will check you out, secure you and your crew, make sure you aren't bugged, etc., and then take you to meet him in a secure place.

You won't be able to tell anyone where he is, because even after the interview you will still have no idea.

If it transmits, they will find it, and even if they can't detect the transmission, they have
Xray/Cat scan / MRI machines they can take you to.

Osama has a lot of money.

Besides all that, Osama is not going to be at the meeting site any longer than necessary.

how is this not be considered publicity until it has been proven?
