It's over $1 million now.

On a side note: maybe he should just be a professional Jeopardy player...maybe take Alex's job when he retires.

I thought he was well past that?

The record is 1.055 million. He could have done it today if he'd just bet everything ($30k) in the last round to double it. If he doesn't do it tomorrow, he'll do it Wednesday night -although it's probable that he'll do it tomorrow with his average winnings being in the 30k-40k range.

How did the other person reach 1 million if they just changed the 5 games and you're out rule?

Did he really say that?
That was the reason he didn't want to bid higher on final jeopardy to break the 1-day earnings record... cause he wanted the previous record to stand.

What the show REALLY needs to do to boost ratings even higher is pull together ALL the people who over the years won their Tournament of Champions for the given year, and pull a Gladiator on his ass...against the best of the best. ;)

I think that'd be great, but since it's already the end of the season, it's not gonna happen. I'd like to some weird variation...like 1-on-1 or something.

You guys/gals do realize that the episodes currently running were taped in February right?

Here

Here

The shows involving Jennings were taped beginning in February (a week's worth of half-hour shows are taped in a day), and how far he goes (or went) is a heavily guarded secret.

Jennings' "Jeopardy!" streak is over, though viewers may not realize it. The "Jeopardy!" episodes featuring him were taped in February, and Jennings is home in Utah, though he is refusing comment for now

Probably part of his contract. They don't pay him until after the shows air; and if he spills the beans he gets NADA.

^ so theoretically, he doesn't continue his streak for longer than 5 more months from episodes today... that can still be a great run.
