Y'all just twisting yourselves into pretzels trying to make the president culpable. Bush and Obama let this animal kill hundreds of American soldiers. Trump put him down the moment he stepped out of line. But y'all call that 'escalation'. One thing we now know: Iran will not be giving the green light to kill anymore US personnel or raid our embassies. Unlike Obama, whose red line Assad crossed everyday and twice on Sundays, Ayatollah Callme won't be challenging Trump again now that Callme's BFF is roasting in hell. And, no, Trump is not culpable for the death of the airline passengers. Trump did not leave Iranian airspace open for civilian flights and Trump did not command the buffoons that shot down the plane. I know the liberals here hate our soldiers and see them as fair game. It must hurt to see somebody actually care about US soldiers so much that he 1) wants them out of the Middle East and 2) will destroy anything that threatens said soldiers. Y'll must think the death of another soldier is a time to celebrate and wait for what'll come next. But I disagree. And so does the president. After the death of Soleimani everyone is on notice that things have changed considerably. If it was up to me I would've nuked Iran and worked with whatever survived. But the prez has shown incredible restraint in the face of iranian aggression. IMHO, the ayatollah should be a part of his greatest hits.

wall of text starting with Y'all.

Oh, and after sleeping on it, I have resolved what I would do if I were Iran. Locate the nearest US Carrier Strike group and eliminate it. Show the world what a rocket barrage can do, and show the world that the US no longer dominates global power.

Whether a facetious remark or not, it is still inappropriate. The rest of your remarks I cannot respond to as they do not refer to me or any comment I made in this thread. I would have you direct those comments to the person(s) you intend.

I'm fairly certain that post was facetious, however I disagree with it, and agree that it is inappropriate and in poor taste, at best.

But OTOH thank you for providing this excellent example of conservative identity politics, where all liberals are responsible for anything another liberal said, even if you made it up, but you as a conservative are not responsible for anything another conservative said, even when they actually said it, because you believe that your political identity entitles you to different rules.

uhh, no. the guy who gave the command to, if intentional, does. or if accidental, the guy who pressed the missile launch button does.
If Iran's alert level had not been at a war status and Trump didn't assassinate that General the odds of Iran shooting down an airliner is close to zero

Too easy. Neocons want to establish hegemony over the middle east so independent players like Iran can't be tolerated. They'd put the Pahlavis back in charge in a heartbeat.
