Held my breathe, crossed my fingers, said a prayer AND computer booted up.

Control panel shows the cpu as e6400, 2.13mhz and 2gb RAM.

Got my new p5B deluxe wifi and all the stuff that goes with it.

Being very careful to read every instruction, and wearing a grounded wrist strap I open things and install them only as I need them.

I am to remove my MB tray and work on it in a clean well lit place.

I remove the chip from the Intel package, only holding it by its sides. I lay it in the spot on the motherboard with the lever at about 135 degrees. The triangle matches the correct corner and the notches line up. I then close the lever and it is a bit tough to close. I notice that my cpu does not look centered. I open the lever again and slightly reposition the cpu. This time the lever closes a bit more easily and the cpu is centered.

Any chance any damage was done?

I have not turned the system on yet.

TIA
