So my friend and I were at this renewable energy panel. These were all small business owners who owned small renewable companies. There was one guy there that was pretty interesting, instead of wearing a suit, he wore a construction dress shirt and jeans. He said he owned a farm and said he was looking for a few interns over the summer at his wind company.
Over the course of his panel discussion, he kept talking about getting a few beers with people and talking about career choices. My friend, who was with me, was interested in the internship, so I suggested that we have a couple of beers with the guy in order to secure an internship for my friend. My friend flat out rejects the idea and leaves straight after the panel, rendering me confused. Was I wrong to think that the small business owner wanted potential interns to approach him about getting a few beers and watching the hockey game?
