Did I pick a good year to buy Titans tickets or what?

So I decided to buy Titans season tickets last Spring. I found a really good deal on the PSLs on eBay and bought them because my cousin has tickets with 10 feet of mine. My wife and I had talked about going to games, but I knew the price of the things...only problem was that she didn't agree and I made a split-second decision on eBay to get them right as the auction closed. (no other bids)

Fast forward to August...I surprised the wife with the crisp sheets of tickets. She wasn't as happy as I hoped.

She was angry with me for a few months over it. By game 5, we were watching an away game together on TV and she exclaimed, "I'm soo glad you got those tickets." We went to the Titans/Colts game and I let her take her father to the game against Greenbay. I've sold 4 home games (2 to family/friends and 2 to strangers on Ticketmaster @ 3 times the face value)....I've paid for all but $200 of the season tickets and that covered 5 home games. Do you think she's forgiven me yet? :D

Ohh yeah, if they make the playoffs, we can either sell the tickets or go. I'm almost tempted to go. ;)

Yea...and I just got rid of my PSLs on eBay before the season started :( You wouldn't happen to be in Section 238 would you?

Then by your definition, "true fans" would already have tickets and wouldn't need to buy them this late into the season.

I never understood the point of going to a football game unless you are on the first row 50 yard line or a skybox of some sort. Anywhere else and you can't see shit.

Uhhh.... no. Just for 1 example, the eagles ticket waiting list is 60,000+

True for Philly but not so for the Titans. Apparently there were PSLs and tickets available for cheap so this must mean that there were more season tickets than "true fans" because if "true fans" only want the tickets now or for the post-season, they would not be considered "true fans" in my book.

I'm on the 35 yard line in the upper deck (section 313), but you can actually see everything. Stadium design has come a long way. Last season, we were way out on the edge around the goal line for one game and still had a really good view of the field.

I bought the seats because I am a true fan. I only want to sell them because I'm like most other Americans right now...I have more debt than assets. I've got about 3-4 more years before I'm in the green again. :p

A brilliant investment.

Yes, you picked the perfect year to do this, and you're reaping the benefits. Not only are you seeing your team kick some major ass, but you're able to move money around to possibly get your seats for free. Plus you get to share this little nugget of gold with those that matter to you.

The whole 'real fan' argument is silly. That crap went out the window years ago when teams decided to jack their prices up and cater to the all-mighty luxury box god. Pro teams don't even blink twice when charging thousands for their ridiculous PSLs, so why shouldn't us common folk take advantage of them when we can?

Pro teams have ZERO loyalty to their fans. It's a business, and their only loyalty is to the bottom line.

Well since my favorite team is the Eagles and my second favorite is the Denver Broncos (30+ year wait list) I am totally screwed :(

Honestly I wonder which season tickets are harder to get through official means. With the Broncos you can't even buy 2 seats together the second regular seating goes one sale for a Detroit Lions game, lol.

If only I grew up being an Arizona Cardinals fan, getting season tickets would be cake, lol.

Tennessee Titans PSL Season Ticket Waiting List

The Tennessee Titans currently have 20,000 fans on their PSL Season Ticket Waiting List. If the Titans raise PSL prices, fixed since the late 1990's, their season tickets will be a hot commodity. Based on current turnover rates, you can expect to be able to go through the Tennessee Titans Season Tickets Waiting List and have your name come up in about five years.

Dear Tennessee,
We were wondering if we could have the Titans back and trade you for the Texans and 100 billion dollars? The only condition is that you keep Bud Adams.

Signed,
Houston

I got mine from eBay for $600 under face value. :D

Since that was posted back in January, I'm sure the list is longer by now. ;)

I live about 30 minutes and grew up 12 miles from Philly. I can be in PA, MD or NJ in 15 minutes...just because you don't live in the state doesn't mean it's not the same neighborhood.

You fail to mention how much bigger the Philly area is than Nashville. With 20,000 + on the waiting list, that is pretty large amount in a small market town. Of course the awesome start the Titans are enjoying this year sure is making them all the buzz around town. Sad that a franchise quarterback has to benched to lift a team.

This is one crap I don't understand.
Why the hell can't they just sell to the highest bidder rather than have such backlog?

I remember someone telling me a few years ago that the waiting list on Green Bay Packers tickets was 5 years.
